Hangin' Out

Here's Josh and Emory hanging out in Josh's room today after Emory's nap.

Emory Is Climbing!

Emory has become quite the climber. This has taken some getting use to for me since Josh was not quite as daring and adventurouse as Emory at this age. Here are some shots of her climbing on to Josh's train table. Eventough I'm not really excited about her climbing on everything, she is adorable when she does it - well, she's just adorable all the time!

Thinking about it.

Hoisting the leg up.

Pulling herself onto the table.

Success!

Ft. Worth Train Ride

The Saturday before Easter, we met Russ' family in Ft. Worth and did a little train ride with the kids. We then went to a near by park and let the kids play. Josh and Emory love their cousins!!

Here's a pic of Josh with his favorite food and Emory hanging out in her high chair.

The Hunt

We had our Easter egg hunt for the kids in the afternoon at a near by park. They had a blast. Joshua took off and ran from egg to egg. Emory really got into it too. I was surprised that she caught on, but I think Josh's excitment really got her interested. She actually carried her basket and got to those eggs as fast as she could. I think true understanding set in once she realized there was yummy candy inside the eggs :)

Our Easter

Here's a little tid bit about our Easter (this is Monique writing by the way). We got the kids up early to a fun breakfast before watching the sunrise. Josh awoke to a trail of string tied to his ankle which lead to his chair and a big plate of cinnamon rolls (his favorite) and candy of course. It was the best breakfast ever according to Him.

After breakfast, we watched the sunrise. Josh had been opening up "clues" in eggs throughout the week to read through the Easter story. It really helped him experience the truth of the story and its highs and lows. It made the sunrise on Sunday morning really exciting and a true reason for celebration.

After our sunrise celebration, we got ready for church - this is really the part that's just fun for Mommy.

Afterwards Joshua and Emory had an Easter egg scavenger hunt with the first eggs awaiting them in their carseats on the ride home. The scavenger hunt ended of course, with their Easter baskets.

This Easter, March 23rd, also happened to be my birthday. This is the first time my birthday has ever fallen on Easter and it won't happen again for the next 200 years so it's also the last time it will happen for me :) I got lots of pretty flowers on my special day. Josh picked out the 3.5 foot pink rose himself!

More Holiday Scoop

Right before Christmas we took a quick trip up to Maysville, OK to visit my cousin (Lanny) and his son (Landes) who were down visiting from Wyoming. We don't see them much. Josh and Landes are just 6 months apart and really loved playing together. They road around my Aunt and Uncle's house on motorized cars. Josh did not want to come inside no matter how cold it was.

Emory even got to take a little drive :) Here's Josh and her cruisin' in the Cadi.

We got to see my brother over the holidays. He loves being the fun Uncle :)

Right after the new year I got to reconnect with my friend, Amberly, from high school. She lives in Richardson not far from us in Frisco. She has a son, Zachary, who is just a few months older than Emory. It was so much fun getting to see her again and how much our lives have changed. At one point while the kids were playing in the play area at the mall where we met, I looked over at Amberly and said: "Look, our kids are playing together!" Here's Zachary, Josh, and Emory hanging out at the toy store.
